How can I book my flight and when should I do it?
Because most schools pay for teachers flights to Korea, this is not something you can do on your own. Booking a flight is a delicate process that must be cleared with your employer. For this reason, the Korea Works staff will work as the middle man between you and your school. We will get flight information from you (like what airport you want to fly out of) and pass that along to your school. Your employer will then find a flight itinerary that works for you and them, and they’ll send it to us. We’ll pass it along to you for confirmation, at which point you will pay for the flight and finalize the booking. Most teaching contracts specify that your flight reimbursement will occur sometime during your first month in Korea. Please see your teaching contract if you have any questions about when you’ll be receiving your reimbursement.
And please remember: this whole flight booking process usually does not begin until AFTER you’ve received your E2 visa and your passport is back in your hands. Koreans do things very last minute (compared to Western standards) and your flight will likely be booked 2-4 days before your actual departure!
